In 2014, a group of twelve individuals throughout the country began discussing the impact father absence and non-involvement has on the lives of daughters.
Each individual from a different region of the country was charged with hosting a focus group to discuss the matter for a period of four weeks. What was emotionally and joyfully revealed during these talks, set in motion the foundation by which Daughters Lives Matter established its three (3) key principles:
With many tears, real talk and even regrets, both daughters and fathers emphatically expressed the importance of "healthy" father/daughter relationships over the lifespan.
Daughters Lives Matter, through dedicated stakeholders, has committed itself to producing events and outreach that advocates the importance of fathers and daughters creating effective bonds intended to both ensure and endure lasting relationships. As well as, accessing resources, tools and support to produce positive and productive results. So, that neither has to unnecessarily hurt. But, rather love, grow and understand.
